Telomeres are the caps at the end of each strands of DNA that protects our chromosomes. Based on Blackburn’s studies, the length of the telomeres determines the life expectancy of a person.  Our daily lives activities is one way that contributes to the length of our telomeres.

The Chromies that lives an unhealthy lifestyle such as being overstressed, drinking, and smoking have much shorter telomeres. On the other hand, Chromies that live a well-balanced lifestyle have longer telomeres.
